FAQ

DO I HAVE TO SPEAK SPANISH TO JOIN THE CLUB?

No! The club is there to help people that are learning Spanish

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE PART OF THE CLUB?

There are only 2 requirements to be an "official" member of the club:

1) Currently enrolled at the University of Manitoba (any program)
2) Either being a Spanish student (currently or previously enrolled in Spanish classes at UofM) or a native Speaker.

The club will still be open to anyone who may wish to participate in activities or go practice Spanish with their members, however, only those who meet the requirements are able to vote and/or be eligible to be an executive

WHAT CAN YOU DO AT THE SPANISH CLUB?

We have a club room, that the faculty has kindly let us use. You can come if you need to study, practice Spanish, or if just need to wait between classes.  We have books and boardgames in Spanish, and a microwave and a fridge if you need to use them.

WHAT ACTIVITIES DOES THE SPANISH CLUB HAS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?

The specific activities of the club are determined by the management team and usually vary between cultural and academic activities. In the past, we've had activities such as the Day of the Dead, a cultural potluck, and other education activities organized by either the club members or the professors of the FSI department.

WHAT TIMES IS THE CLUB OPEN?

The opening times of the club may vary day to day based on the scheduled of those who open it (it does not stay open while there is no one inside). If you want to know wether the club is open or not at any given time, join our WhatsApp group!
